Tourism halt in existing crisis

Out of all the global crisis , until now in the twenty-first century , covid-19 pandemic is the most heeded in all circumstances. Who would have thought , we would be beholding such a catastrophe , not even foreseen.

The concerned article articulates the rampant slump in tourism and traveling around the globe and addresses how it has brought about a decline in the economies of developed and the developing countries. According to a research , the negative impact on tourism due to covid-19 could rise up to  1 Trillion US Dollars and apparently , that does not look a miniature amount.

The World Travel & Tourism Council ( WTTC )  accounts  that 50 million jobs could be lost due to this pandemic , and that too of only pertaining to this sector. There isn't a single industry that is not , unappealingly , crumbling and the numbers look worse for the tourism and traveling community.

The importance of tourism and traveling industry is undeniable as it contributes to the world economy by 10.4% , let alone the 319 million jobs created by it as reported by World Tourism Forum.

Italy and Spain , one of the most harmed countries by covid-19 , were one of the most well-known travel destinations. Talking about the small island nations , like Iceland , tourism was a major contributing factor in GDP , roughly talking more then one-third of their economy.

Tourism and traveling industry not works as a detached factor in GDP. The Hotels , Transportation ,

Agriculture , Education etc. are some of the sectors linked with it. Ostensibly , a major contributing factor in our country , tho the way it has been functioning  can be questioned upon.

Although , the human behavior after this pandemic is arguable , but I see , tourism as an expeditious and fruitful way of bolstering the economy. In this regard , traveling at the domestic level would prove lucrative. It would only be possible after winning the confidence of masses within a territory. Advertisement of campaigns and timely modification of Hotel policies could prove to be a tool for captivating local tourists and travelers.

We are in the midst of a crisis but that does not stop us from planning over future and post-pandemic opportunities. The above stated facts are suffice to realize the gravity of tourism and traveling industry. To Sum up , bringing a vaccine out isn't just the only fight against covid-19 ( tho I'm tired of reading and writing this word ) , but to tackle the grave repercussions it resulted in.
